MASONIC AND SHRINER LEADERS--Attending this year's 30th anniversary
of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. are fron
left to right past Grandmaster Edward A. Lawrence, New York City;
Rev. Thomas S. Logan, Yeadon, Penn.; past Illustrous Potentate
William Kilpatrick, New York City; Deputy Imperial Poterfate,
Shriners Charles A. Dargan, New York City and past Grandmaster
Henry G. Fort, Chicago, Illinois. These leaders were present
to hear Democratic senator from Massachusetts, Edward M. Kennedy,
deliver the key address. The senator praised them for their
outstanding support of LDF. Since 1951, the Prince Hall Masons
and the Shriners have contributed approximately $400,000 to
support LDF's programs to tear down the barriers of racial in-
justice and discrimination in every aspect of American society.

and distinct organization even though we were established
by the NAACP and those initials are retained in our name.
Our correct designation is NAACP Legal Defense and Educa-
tional Fund, Inc., frequently shortened to LDF.
