Re: Maps attached to Appellants’ Brief on the Merits

Dear Tiare:

While preparing our Brief, we have noticed that the new maps you appended to your

Brief on the merits are inaccurate. More troubling, the errors in precinct coloring are uniformly

slanted to present the Court a picture more favorable to your position than that which is

warranted by the actual data. Specifically, at least the following precincts are given the wrong

color: In Mecklenburg County, Charlotte 61, In Guilford County, Greensboro 33, Jamestown 2,

and Greensboro 38.

In the event these maps are not corrected prior to October 1, 2000, we intend to advise the

Court of these inaccuracies and move to strike the maps as being inauthentic. Please let us know

what steps you intend to take to provide corrected maps to the Court.
