Mrs. Maggie Bozeman
P. O. Box 396
Tuskegee, Alabama 36083

Dear Mrs. Bozeman:

I have been talking with your LDF lawyer, Ms.
Lani Guinier, about using your case as the basis for
fund-raising for our LDF voting rights cases and for
other LDF legaI work.

Ms. Guinier has been out of the office the end of
this week, and it now appears that our photographer and
writer may be available a week from today -- Saturday,
June 5. We could shift to Sunday, June 6, if that
would be better. The writer is Mr. David Watson of
Montgomery, Alabama, and the photographer is Mr. James
Peppler of NEWSDAY on Long Island.

Will you check with Mrs. Ju1ia Wilder on the
June 5 or 6 date? Mr. Peppler would be flying from
here to Montgomery, and he and Mr. Watson would then
drive to Tuskegee.

I believe that Ms. Guinier will be in this office from
June 1. Will you call her COLLECT to let us know whether
the date is okay? I may be out on jury duty that day,
but ask for my assistant, Mrs. Judith S1oan, if Ms.
Guinier is not available. Or call me collect in the
evening at my home (area code z 2l-2 7W=TISO) . Tuesday
or Wednesday is time enough to call, but I would l-ike to
know as soon as possible. Mr. Peppler has been out of town
too -- and I am having trouble fitting the dates together.

Sincerely yourst ,) ,

.,?zha----/< @*-.^-1
James R. Robinson, Secretary
