Enclosed p lease  f in d  s ta te  de fendants ' 
motion f o r  ex tens ion  o f  time in  which to  f i l e  ob je c t io n s  
as suggested by the Court o f  Appeals in  i t s  order o f 
August 7, 1972. P l a i n t i f f s  have concurred in  th is  motion 
to  the ex te n t  that they do no t o b je c t  to  extending the 
time f o r  f i l i n g  o b je c t io n s  to  10 days a f t e r  August 24, 
1972, assuming th a t  the s tay  order o f Ju ly 20, 1972 has 
no t been vaca ted .

The press o f  business preven ted  con tac t in g  
counsel f o r  the o ther  p a r t ie s  w ith  re sp ec t  to  th is  
motion, although we are informed by Mr. Saxton 's  o f f i c e  
th a t  a l l  counsel w ith  the excep tion  o f  Mr. Roumell and 
Mr. R itch ie  were agreeab le  to  h is  request f o r  an ex tens ion  
to  f i l e  o b je c t io n s .  We understand th a t  Mr. Roumell took 
no p o s i t io n  and Mr. R itch ie  ob jec ted  to  h is  request.

We would apprec ia te  the Court a c t in g  upon th is  
motion w ithou t hearing  in  l i g h t  o f  the r e s p o n s ib i l i t i e s  
imposed by the Court o f  Appeals to  f i l e  our b r i e f  and 
j o in t  appendix by August 14, 1972.
