ORDER 
  

This matter is before the Court on the motion of the 

Lawrence County Defendants for interim approval of election sche- 

dule and procedures. Upon consideration of the motion, the Court 

concludes that it is due to be granted. Accordingly, it is 

ORDERED, ADJUDGED and DECREED as follows: 

). The special elections for the County Commission in 

Lawrence County, Alabama will be conducted on the following sche- 

dule: 

Primary Election —-- November 18, 1986 

Primary Run—-Off -- December 9, 1986 

General Rlection -— December 30, 1986 

2. The election procedures proposed by these Defendants, 

as described in their November 3, 1986 motion for approval of 

election proposal, with attachment; and as more fully described 

in their November 6, 1986 supplemental notice regarding proposed 

Lawrence County election procedures, are hereby approved.

3s To the extent the schedule or the procedures are 

changes which would ordinarily require preclearance under 

Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, as amended, the 

approval granted herein should be considered interim approval.
