MOTION OF RESPONDENT

FOR PERMISSION TO FILE SUPPLEMENTAL BRIEFS

The State of Georgia, Respondent in the two above-styled

cases, respectfully requests leave of the Court to file supple-

mental briefs in said cases, as provided by Rule 41(5) and (6),

and as reason therefor, states:

The complexity of the monumental question posed by the

Court in said cases devolved in oral argument into a number of

sub-questions which were not fully exhausted and which time did

not permit complete or reflective explanation of.

In addition, Respondent believes that points which were not

advanced due to the exigencies of time should also be brought

to the attention of the Court so that it may scrutinize every

proposition relevant to the matter in issve.

WHEREFORE, Respondent moves that leave be granted for it

to file short supplemental briefs within such time as the Court

may deem appropriate.
