SUPPLEMENTAL NOTICE OF ACTION TOWARD RESOLUTION OF APPEAL 

The Attorney General of Texas, on behalf of the State of Texas, supplements its March 

29, 1993, filing of a Notice of Action Toward Resolution of Appeal as follows: 

i On April 13, 1993, a majority of the Texas Senate, acting through the Senate 

Committee of the Whole, voted its approval of Senate Resolution 521 ("S.R. 521"). S.R. 521 

expresses approval of a settlement agreement in this case, including a plan for the selection of 

judges under any such settlement, "as an official expression of the sentiment of the Senate of the 

State of Texas." 

2. The Texas House of Representatives is anticipated to act on a resolution 

expressing its approval of a settlement agreement, containing a plan identical to the plan that is 

received majority approval in S.R. 521, by early in the week of April 19, 1993.
