HOLLEMAN September 23, 1999 Ms. Tiare Smiley By Fax to 919-716-6763 North Carolina Dept. of Justice P.O. Box 629 Raleigh, NC 27602-0629 Re: Dr. Peterson’s Data Dear Tiare: After consultation, plaintiffs request the data discussed at the conclusion of the Dr. Peterson deposition in the SAS format. As we understand, Dr. Peterson’s firm can take the data sets, recombine them, prepare a dump of his run and save it all as a SAS file for a ballpark cost of $200. Also, we request copies of any maps used to define the segment analysis. We have inquired of the Information Systems division, and they report they did not create the maps and are unable to create them. Sincerely, Douglas E. Markham Attorney for Plaintiffs cc: Mr. Adam Stein
