RE: Lead Poisoning/EPSDT Program in Louisiana

Dear Joel:

As requested, enclosed please find the following:

(1) Three sets of Louisiana EPSDT policies or
regulations. The 19-E policies are the
current policies; the 19-610 policies of
1989 may still be operative to the extent
that they were not incorporated into the
19-E policies; and the 19-610 policies of
1983 are superseded, but details about
implementation of the EPSDT program may be
of historical interest.

(2) The EPSDT services provider manual for
Louisiana.

(3) April and July 1990 excerpts from the State
Medicaid Manual.

Because it appears that Louisiana's EPSDT program,
on its face, substantially complies with federal law,

“we are not pursuing this matter further at this time.
However, please feel free to contact us at any time
regarding further information which you deem
appropriate for our consideration.

Very truly yours,

Nathalie M. Walker
