Dear Mike:

I am sorry that I missed the last board meet'ing. I would
like to tlff with You, at your convenience, about some of
the agenda items, particullrly the reports on South Africa
and Israe.l.

In the meantime, I understand you are interviewing candidates
for the Washington office. I enclose the resr:ne of Karen
Sauvigne, whom I met when we both served on the board of the
N.Y.U: Public Interest Law Foundation. Although I have not had
a chance to talk to her about this job, I know Karen is plan-
ning to move to D.C. and would be an outstand.ing choice to
head the office there. As her resume denonstrates, although
she is not a lawyer, she has haO extensive experience work:-ng
with lawyers (she is presently Director of Development at
CIINY Law School) , administering Programs (she was Executive
Director of the Working Women'i institute), and working with
the legislative process (including testifying before Senate
and House Committees).

I hope you wj-Il give Karen a call and explore the possibilities
with-hei. !, too, look for:ward to hearing from you soon, so
that you can bring me uP to date-

Sincerely, ,
