Dear lrlr. Gans

Thank you for sending me a copy of your llarch 27, 1986
letter to Linda Davidoff, Executive Director, the Human
Serve Fund.

I, too, would appreciate a copy of your report in "Non-
Voter Study '85-'86" when your project is completed next
year. In the meantime, perhaps you could presently
furnish me some information on the design and scope of
the project. I am partj.cularly interested in knowing
what you plan to do before you do it. I could then offer
some timely and, I hope, useful suggestions as a result of
our practical litigation experiences and information ob-
tained in LDF cases in which we are challenging discrimina-
tory electoral schemes, restrictive registration lavJs,
criminal prosecutions of voter registration activists,
selective purging, and arbitrary in fact local deputization
practices, all of which have an impact on voter participa-
tion.

I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest conven-
ience.
