On Appeal From the United States District Court
for the Northern District of Texas

DALLAS COUNTY PLAINTIFF/INTERVENORS'
OPPOSITION TO DEFENDANT/INTERVENOR DALLAS

COUNTY DISTRICT JUDGE HAROLD F. ENTZ'S MOTION
FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF EXPEDITED BRIEFING SCHEDULE

Dallas County plaintiff/intervenors Jesse Oliver, Joan

Winn White and Fred Tinsley appear to oppose the Motion for

Establishment of Expedited Briefing Schedule filed by defendant-

/intervenor Dallas County District Judge Harold F. Entz and as

basis for such opposition, states as follows:

i. This Court has stayed the district court's

Judgment pending consideration of possible remedies by the Texas

Legislature, which has now been called into special session on

February 27, 1990, for such purpose.

2. This Court by granting the stay has effectively

removed any need for expedition of consideration of the issues

on appeal.

3. The issues relative to this appeal are those of

public importance, and in the view of plaintiff/intervenors

Oliver, et al., those to which considerable time by the parties

should be devoted in briefing and argument.

4. No need for expedition has been demonstrated by

the Motion for Expedited Briefing Schedule, given the stay by

this Court and the pendency of the remedy issues before the
