Burnham, Director National Conference of Black Lawyers 126 West l19th Street New York, N.Y. 10026 Dear Margaret: I am responding to your July 27, 1984 memorandum with an update of activities over the past year. In addition to the update, I enclose a copy of a press release and Congressional testimony that I delivered on the activiti-es of a coalition of groups with which NCBL is now affiliated. In view of my inability to take an active rofe in developing a separate, independent agenda for NCBL in the political rights arena, I do not wj-sh to continue as Section Chair. I regret I cannot play a formal, organizational ro1e, but f do intend to participate as an active NCBL member.
