Upon the attached affidavit of Jim G. Hendrick,
M.D., its President, the Jackson Urban League respectfully
moves this Court to strike its name from the amicus curiae
brief previously filed jointly by the Jackson Chamber of
Commerce, Inc., and the Jackson Urban League pursuant to a
motion granted by this Court.

JIM G. HENDRICK, M. D., being duly sworn affirms and says:
1. That affiant resides in Jackson, Mississippi, and is
the President of the Jackson Urban League.
2. That previously, pursuant to a resolution of the
Board of Directors of the Jackson Urban League, the League
joined with the Jackson Chamber of Commerce in filing an Amicus
Curiae Brief with the Supreme Court in Swann v. Charlotte
Mecklenburg Board of Education.
34 | That subsequently the Jackson Urban League learned
that this action with national legal significance was contrary
to the policy of the National Urban League.
4, That in deference to the policy of the Nabi onal Urban
League the Jackson Urban League, by a resolution of the Board
of Directors, has decided to withdraw from the above-named case.
3 That this action is not intended to reflect a change
in attitude of the Jackson Urban League toward the merits of the
case in question. On the contrary, the Jackson Urban League
maintains its position in all respects as outlined in the Brief.
