Now come the Pickens County Defendants and the Pickens 

County Plaintiffs and make this joint motion to the Court as 

follows: 

That the Order and Judgment of the Court dated October 21, 

1986, be amended as follows: | 

i. The elections provided for in said Order be conducted in 

accordance with the following schedule. 

l. December 12 at 5:00 P. M., end of Qualifying. 

2. January 20, 1987, Party Primaries. 

3. fobriacy 10, 1987, Run-off Elections. 

4. March 3, 1987, General Election. 

5. Winners take office March 6, 1987. 

2. That all Commissioners so elected in said election shall hold 

office for a period of four (4) years. 

3. That the Commissioners elected on November 4 under present 

plan, and the other Pickens County Commissioners presently in

office shall remain in office until the elections under the 

schedule provided in Paragraph 1 and the winners shall have taken 

office on March 6, 1987.

ORDER CONCERNING PICKENS COUNTY ELECTION SCHEDULE 
  

Upon the joint motion of the Pickens County defendants 

and Pickens County plaintiffs and argument of counsel, the court 

hereby amends the October 21, 1986 order and judgment to direct 

that elections for the Pickens County Commission be conducted in 

accordance with the following schedule: 

1. December 12, 1986 at 5:00 p.m. ~- End of 

qualifying. 

January 20, 1987 - Party primaries. 

February 10, 1887 - Runoff elections.

March 3, 1987 - General elections. 

5. March 6, 1987 - Yinners take office. 

Commissioners so elected in said election shall hold 

office for a period of four years; until their successors are 

elected in 1990 and sworn into office in 1951 in accordance with 

the applicable state law. It is further ordered that the 

commissioners elected on November 4 under the present at-large 

plan and the other Pickens County commissioners presently in 

 



office shall remain in office until the elections under the 

  

schedule provided for above and the winners take office on March 

6, 1987.
