Dear Mr. Solomone:

I am wrltlng to confirm the agreement between you and
counse] for plaintiffs regardlng thc dlebursement of
attorneyrs fees. The county has agreed to pay a total of
$95,OO0. Of thls amount, approxlnately one-half is to be
paid innedlately. John Harper, Ese., w111 recelve $34,O00
of this flrst, partlal payment, and the NAACP Lega1 Defense
and Educatlonal Fund, Inc., w111 recelve the remainder of
this flrst, partial payment. The paynent of the remainder
of the $95,OOO will occur as soon after January 15, 1988,
as poaalble. Of this second, partial payment, Armand
Derfner, Esq., wlll receive $31,000, and the NAACP tcgal
Defense and Educatlonal Fund, Inc., wlll receive the
remalnder. Thus, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educatlonal
Fund, Inc., wlll recelve a total. of S3O,OOO, ln two
payments.

I hereby authorlze dlsbursement accordlng to thls
schedule. If you have any questlone, please feel free to
telephone me.
