Pursuant to the court’s scheduling order, the following represents defendants’ and defendant-
intervenors’ good faith effort to disclose the identity of all trial witnesses known at this time,
together with a brief statement concerning the topics of their expected testimony.
I, Senator Roy A. Cooper - The legislative history and enactment of the 1997
congressional plan, especially with regard to Districts 1 and 12 and proceedings in the North
Carolina Senate.
Representative W. Edwin McMahan - The legislative history and enactment of the
1997 congressional plan, especially with regard to Districts 1 and 12 and proceedings in the North
Carolina House of Representatives.

3 Gerry Cohen - The legislative history and enactment of the 1997 congressional plan.
especially with regard to Districts 1 and 12 and the technical aspects of redistricting.
4, Linwood Jones - The legislative history and enactment of the 1997 congressional
plan, especially with regard to Districts 1 and 12 and the technical aspects of redistricting.
5. Don Baker, District Director, Office of Congressman Mel Watt - The process of
running a congressional campaign in and the political and electoral character of District 12.
6. Charles J. Worth, District Manager, Office of Congresswoman Eva Clayton - The
process of running a congressional campaign in and the political and electoral character of District 1.
7. Dr. Richard L. Engstrom - Rebuttal testimony, as necessary, to the trial testimony of
Dr. Ronald Weber.
In the event it is determined that additional witnesses are necessary for purposes of
responding to plaintiff witnesses or otherwise, plaintiffs will be notified as soon as possible.
