Notice From Chief Judge To Counsel And Parties Regarding Court Policy Prohibit-
ing Approval Of Unnecessary Extensions, Etc.:

With the expanded Judgepower available to dispose of the increasing caseload this
Court cannot continue the practice of the past in liberally granting extensions of time to

file the record on appeal, reporter’s transcript, the appendix to the briefs, etc. To calendar

the 1400 cases to be heard or submitted this year we must avoid all delays in processing
appeals except in those occasional and necessitous circumstances where it is shown to be
practically impossible to file necessary documents on time.

In order for this Court to keep its docket reasonably current, therefore, counsel or
the parties MUST file all papers as and when they are due, and within the period of time
normally allowed by the rules, so that they will be entitled to hold their place in line on
the docket and have their case calendared when needed by the Court.

The time rules are to be respected, complied with and enforced.

CHIEF JUDGE,
