THESE CAUSES came on to be heard on the transcripts of the records 

from the above court and were argued by counsel. 

ON CONSIDERATION WHEREOF, it is ordered and adjudged by this Court 

that the judgment of the above court in these causes is reversed with costs, 

and that these causes are remanded to the United States Court of Appeals for 

for Fifth Circuit for further proceedings in conformity with the opinion of 

this Court.  



  

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the petitioners, Houston Lawyers’ 

Association, et al., and League of United Latin American Citizens, et al., 

recover from Attorney General of Texas, et al., Two Thousand One Hundred 

Twenty-nine Dollars ($2,129.00) for their costs herein expended.
