Dear Drew:

This is obvi-ousIy a first draft. It needs to be carefully
polished and 1n some sections rewritten, but I thought you
would be inspired by seeing it all in one piece,

Chandl-er has asked me to forward a copy of this draft to him.
I tol-d him I would do so as soon as I heard from you. He
would like to get his copy by the end of next week, if possible.
I will be out of the office through October 2L, but have left
word with Grace Rlchardson to expect your cal1. Chandler
understands that this is stiLl- very rough but apparently needs
some reassurance that a draft of some sort exists.
I will be in New Haven on November 6 for the International-
Human Rlghts.Conference. I hope we can compare notes aL that
time in preparation for the typing of a final draft. Chandl-er
has given us a'new deadline of November 15 for the final- draft.
I look forward to seeing you agaln. I certainly enjoyed my
Sepbember visit, and appreciate all you did to make me feel
at home, includlng inviting me to the faculty festivities.
PLease give my warm regards to your family.
