COMES NOW Plaintiff-intervenors in this action and move this
Court to admit SHERRIIYN A. IFILL prc hac vice in this case.
SHERRILYN A. IFILL will assume the role of counsel and attorney
in charge for the Houston Lawyers Association, et al., in this
case upon admittance pro hac vice to this Court. Based upon the
accompanying affidavit, Plaintiffs move this Court to admit as
counsel in presentation of their case, filed before this Motion,

BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, personally appeared
SHERRILYN A. IFILL, who being duly sworn and upon oath, says:
ie I am an attorney licensed to practice in the State of
New York;
2. I am admitted to federal court practice in the Southern
District of New York:
3. I specialize in federal civil rights litigation;
4. I make this affidavit in support of an application for
my admission to practice pro hac vice before this Court in a case
styled LULAC v. Mattox. I seek to appear as counsel for
plaintiff-intervenors in the presentation of this case.
5. I am an attorney with the NAACP Legal Defense and
Educational Fund, Inc. in New York City. I am supervised in my
representation of plaintiffs in this matter by the Director-
Counsel Julius L. Chambers and Deputy Director-Counsel Charles
Stephen Ralston of the Legal Defense Fund. The Legal Defense
Fund is a nationally recognized, highly respected organization
dedicated to the representation of minority individuals in
constitutional and civil rights litigation. It has been cited by
the United States Supreme Court as having ”a corporate reputation
