Re: Major v. Treen, Eastern District of Louisiana

No. 82-1192

Dear Judge Collins:

This matter is before Your Honor on objections to the

recommendations of the Magistrate and is set on your September 10

motion docket. :

We believe that the complexity of this matter would not be

easily handled on a typical motion docket. We therefore request

a special setting that would allow at least one hour for

argument. There is no evidence to be presented. Additionally,

so that we might prepare a brief response to the defendant's

objections and because out-of-town counsel may present argument,

we ask that the setting be at least a week or more beyond the

current September 10 setting.

By copy of this letter I ‘ask the attorney for the

defendants, Ms. Bowers, communicate her position on our request

to your office.

Very respectfully,

arryT. ove
