Statement by Jack Greenberg, director-counsel,
NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.
10 Columbus Circle, New York, July 31, 1968
LDF attorneys today announced plans to file motions for
further relief in 15 Georgia school cases in an effort to
speed school integration. The attorneys acted after gaining
a victory in the case of Anson Graves v. the Walton Count
Board of Education. The U.S. District Court in Macon ruled
late yesterday that attendance area lines should be used in
m rather F A ? assigning students EHX than freedom of choice. This is the
first such ruling in the state of Georgia.
