Dear Editor:

This is a frantic plea, The NAACP Legal
Defense and Educational Fund is in urgent need of financial
help.

Since the recent U, S. Supreme Court decisions,
it appears that many of our supporters are under the im=
pression that the fight is over and there is no further
need for financial aid, As a result, the NAACP Legal
Defense Fund is without money to meet the new, highly-
financed challenges being hurled at us from every direction
from the deep South,

The attached release is a personal plea to our
people for money, You would do me a great personal favor
if you can somehow arrange to run it, possibly in a box,
on your front page. If we don't get immediate financial
help, we will not be able to effectively continue the fight
for equal rights and full citizenship,

Please accept my sincere thanks for the splendid
help you have given all of us,

Sincerely,

Hae got Wecraheed (
