TO: Sheff Legal Team

FROM: Dennis Parker

RE: Next Conflict Call

DATE: May 7, 1999

Because of a conflict that has come up since our call on Wednesday, it is necessary to
re-reschedule the telephone conference call scheduled that was Wednesday, for May 12th.
Diane Simmons will be contacting each of you to see what your availability is on Thursday, May
13th or Friday, May 14th.

On the positive side, two very supportive and positive articles appear in the May issue
of the New York University Law Review: "How Sheff Revives Brown" Reconsidering
Desegregation’s Role in Creating Equal Education Opportunity" a note by Mary Jane Lee, 74
N.Y.U.L. Rev. 485 and an essay by Professor James Ryan, University of Virginia School of Law
"Sheff, Segregation and School Finance Litigation", 74 N.Y.U.L. Rev. 529. If it were only as
clear to Judge Aurigemma.

Speak with you soon.
