Re: Ginqles Fee Petition

I enclose a draft of affidavits and statements of hours for Eric
and me. I do not have Juliust affidavit yet, only his total time
from 1985 and L985. He says you have his time before that and
someone in your offj-ce will pu11 it together to add to the time
he can document. Steve Ralston will call Jon Wallace to confirm
the proposed hourly rates and to add in appropriate contingency
fees to our base rates.

As vre discussed,, I have included the spread, sheets as well as a
sunmary sheet for LDF expenses. You will note a figure for money
LDF paid your f irm. Pursuant to our cooperating attorney
agreement, you will seel< to recover this sum directly from the
defendants, will deduct this sum from your recovery and will pay
this amount back to LDF. We have agreed to discuss further how
best to distribute expenses deemed non-recoverable by the court.

Let us talk after you have a chance to review the enclosures.
See you at Airlie.

S incerely,

Lani Guinier
