NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund lawyers today will seek a
federal court injunction to prevent authorities in Greensboro, Ala.

The attorneys will ask Judge Daniel Thomas of the U.S. District
Court for the Southern District of Alabama in Mobile to enjoin Alabama
State Police, Greensboro Police and the Hale County Sheriff's
Department from obstructing the planned march, Demonstrators set out
Monday from St. Matthews AME Church to march five blocks to the Hale
County Courthouse to protest voter discrimination, but were stopped at
a police barricade a half=block from the chitrch,. A nuinber of
demonstrators maintained a vigil at the barricade, and about 300 were
arrested there last night. The marchers also planned to continue four
miles to St. Marks AME Church, which was burned about two weeks ago.
The Rev. A. T. Days, president of the Hale County Improvement
Association, anda march leader, is pastor of both Negro churches.
