Please find enclosed additional materials regarding the 
above noted case. I am enclosing the relevant sections 
from the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Report detailing 
use of deadly force and discipline of police officers in 
Memphis; portions of the trial transcript dealing with 
training procedures in the use of deadly force; the census 
data you requested; and a compilation of police killings 
in various cities put together by Larry Sherman. The sec
tion on deadly force in the Civil Rights Commission Report 
contains the breakdown of shooting incidents, including 
type of crime, which you indicated that you needed.
