March 20, (1991

I've enclosed for your review the briefs we filed in Chisom -

v. Roemer and HLA V. Attorney General of Texas. I've also enClosed
a copy of the brief filed by United States ostensibly on our
behalf. (You'll understand why I say "ostensibly" when you read
it.)

We plan to hold moot courts for these cases on April 8th at
NYU, and April 17th at Howard Law School in D.C. I hope that you
will be at the NYU moot.

Julius Chambers will be arguing the HLA case.
has been set for April 22nd in both cases.

I will, of course, send you the defendants'
receive them. Take care.
