Professor Chandler Davidson
Department of SociologY
Rice University
Ilouston, Texas 77001

Dear Chandler:

Thank you for your kind note. I am delighted.to hear
that Mlreditfr -eiUUs will be working at LDF this stlruler.
P1ease suggest to her that she introduce herself to me

as soon ai-she arrives. With you singing her praises
in such resonant tones, I cannot wait to meet her and
get her working on some voting cases.

I like your idea of an indexed, annotated and uP-to-
date UiLliography on social science research. I would
recommend iicluding legal cases if that is possible.
Also, since everyone ai f.or seems to have an Apple, it
would be helpful to have the program Apple-comPatl!}e'
In addition, I understand Apple has grants for public
interest groups who want to do computer networking.
I will tqf to find out more.

In the meantime, put me down for whatever you come uP
with. By the way, what has become of our book on Racial
Vote Diluti.on?
