re: Bolden v. Mobile 

Dear Mr. Williams: 

I believe that Jim Blacksher has spoken to you regarding the 
Bolden case in which we are challenging the Mobile city com- 
mission form of government on the same grounds that you are 
using in BULL v. Shreveport. Jim has shown me a copy of the 
Proposed Findings in the case. I am interested in obtaining 
a copy of the housing segregation study cited in paragraph 8. 
The only citation given is a deposition. Could you tell us 
where we might obtain a copy of this study? 

  

Secondly (Jim may have already requested this), we would Tike 
copies of any briefs you submitted touching on the substantive 
point of abrogating the city's choice of a commission form in 
favor of single-member districts. I consider this our most 
significant hurdle. I notice that the only fact finding on 
this is in paragraph 22. Other than this admission, what other 
evidence touched on this point?
