Re: ACORN v. Clinton
Dear Barry:
As we discussed today, in the event a trial on the merits is
scheduled, LDF would like to retain you to investigate the
federal jury pool data in Arkansas in order to develop
projections on the real registration rate for blacks in Arkansas.
Professor Allan Lichtman has agreed to prepare a report similar
to the one he did in Push v. Allain, based on data you collected
from similar sources in Mississippi.
You agreed to contact me as soon as you know your schedule for
the first or second week in June which is the earliest you are
available. P1ease Let me know as weII what arrangements I should
make on your behalf with the federal court jury clerk. I expect
you can find the statlstics you will need at the federal court in
Eastern Arkansas, but we should confim that too. Once I get a
copy of your prelininary memos in PUSH from Allan Lichtman, I
will advise you of our proposed plan in greater detail.
Thanks so much for your cooperation.
