Professor Christopher F. Edley, Jt.
Harvard Law School
Cambridge, Massachusetts 02130

Dear Chris:

I have tried many t.imes unsuccessfully to reach you
by telephone to respond to your January 18 letter.
I would sti}l like to discuss the memorandum you
sent on publication ideas. why don't you give me a
caII r or let me know when is a good tj-me for me to
call you?

In the meantime, I remain enthusiastic about the project,
and have been discussing it informally with several
friends. In fact, I encouraged Suzanne Lynn to write
out a recent speech she gave at Harvard Law School so
that I could share it with you for possible inclusion
in a mock up edition. The speech needs some editing
which Suzanne is willing to do. Her research on racism
in the women's movement is great and I think you will
find that the speech strikei a responsive chord in men
and women. Suzlnne told me that the fifteen black law
students in the audj-ence all came uP and hugged her
af tenrards.

Let me hear from

Sincerely,

:' ..t. 'IzA., t'' Lani, Guinier
