The problem

is so well defined,

so neatly packaged,

with both causes

and cures known,

that if we don't

eliminate this social

crime, our society

deserves all the

disasters that have

been forecast for it.

MEMORANDUM

703 Interested Parties

FROM: K.W. James Rochow, Project Manager

SUBJECT: Draft State Model Law For Childhood Lead
Poisoning Prevention And Conceptual Outline for
Primary Prevention Strategies Handbook

The enclosed Draft Model Law and Conceptual Outline were
initially distributed for public comment at the Alliance's
National Conference held this fall. (please ignore the
deadlines for comments which were geared to the
Conference's participants.) The respective introductions
to the two documents are, we hope, self-explanatory.

The Alliance wants to obtain as widespread public comments
on these drafts as possible. We would very much like to
receive your comments on them and have provided the
enclosed self-addressed envelope. (Handwritten comments
are certainly acceptable.)

It would be most helpful if you could give us your
comments by January 31, 1992.

Thank you for your interest and cooperation.
