Dear Ms. Guinier:
On December 8, 1982, I received the Notices of Deposition and the Subpoenas
from Phyllis McClure of your District of Columbia office. Our Process Server
then took the Notices to the Clerk of the United States District Court, Federal
Courthouse in the District of Columbia and filed same. The Clerk issued
Subpoenas which were served as follows.
On Thursday, December 9, 1982, at 10:20 a.m., service was effected upon
William Bradley Reynolds, personally, Assistant Attorney General, Civil Rights
Division, at 9th and Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C., his usual place
of employment.
At 12:30 p.m., service was effected upon Gerald Jones, personally, at
820 First Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., at the same time and place service was
effected upon Gerald Hebert and Robert N. Kwan, by leaving the Subpoenas and
Notices with Gerald Jones, Section Chief, Voting Rights, Civil Rights Division,
at their place of employment.
Enclosed please find four Certified Returns on Service, together with our
statement for services and disbursements.
