May 31, 1966 Defense, and Educational Fund attorneys today Posy federal district, court in Charlotte, N.C., seeking to enforce the Civil Rights Act of 1964, A suit against Gaston County Dyeing Machine Co. alleges discrimination in violation of Title VII, the equal employment section of the Act, The plaintiff, a Negro who was employed by the firm as a welder for more that four years, alleges his salary ranged from $1.25 to $1.90 anvhotirowhile white welders with less experience and qualifi¢ation made from $2.15 to $2,40 an hour. gee The other suit, under Title IL, thé public accomodations section, alleges discrimination by the ‘Coffee Cup’ Restaurant, Gastonia, N.C.
