Dear Bill: 29192

The agreement that we reached with the Legal Defense 1 0
Fund regarding division of fees in cases which origi- G6.“
nated in this office was that we would receive 15% of
the award.

We would have no claim against any cost recovery be- 24 14
cause our out of pocket costs were reimbursed to us by 1 0G L
the Fund.

1 of | U

There were certain costs which were not iso- | #
lated, such as xeroxing and telephone which we did not 6
bill to the Fund, but there is no practical way of 264°
recapturing that. Our total claim is 15% of the attorney
fee award. Bio :

Dear Fred:

This is to request that you advise me whether Mel

Leventhal had an agreement with the law firm in which

your firm would get a part of the fees award in the

above case. I have some recollection of some such agree-

ment but cannot find the letter or whether it was in this

case that there was an agreement.

I hope this finds you well.

Sincerely,

Bill Lann Lee

Bill Lann Lee

Norwood v. Harrison

I have checked the amounts and the calculations of

interest in the April 11, 1979, letter of Mr. Mathews,

Executive Secretary of the Mississippi State Textbook Pur-

chasing Board. I find that the amounts are correct, and

that the calculation of interest is either correct or gen-

erous by one day, and that a 60¢ error was made on the cost

payment of $1,110.78.

Under Melvyn Leventhal's agreement, I think, with his

former law firm, a portion of his fees award goes to Fred

Banks, et al. I will make that determination and send the

amount to Fred.
