ORDER 
This matter is before the court on the Lawrence County 

defendants' December 15, 1986 motion for permanent approval of 

redistricting plan. Upon consideration of the motion, and the 

letter from the Attorney General of the United States attached 

thereto as Exhibit "A," which shows that the subject redistrict- 

ing plan has been precleared by the Attorney General under Sec- 
and by agreement of the parties,

ADJUDGED and DECREED as follows 

The redistricting plan submitted by the Lawrence County 

defendants 1s hereby finally approved on a permanent basis, 

except to the extent that 1t provides for a sixth chairperson 

commissioner elected at-large. This plan shall remain in effect 

until such time that the Alabama Legislature may enact a valid 

redistricting plan for Lawrence County, and until such time as 

any such plan is precleared by the Attorney General under Section 

5.0fF the Voting Rights Act. 

DONE this 19th day of December, 1986.
