An unprecedented, comprehensive 5-year legal plan to accelerate the
civil rights movement, North and South, will be unveiled by Jack a
Greenberg, director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational
Fund at a press conference Sunday afternoon May 16th at 2:00 PM at |
the Hotel Americana (7th Avenue and 53rd St.), rooms “Chambord 14 & 15".

This press conference comes on eve of a series of meetings here |
Monday May 17th dealing with “New Frontiers of the Lawf under chair- By
manship of Dr. Ralph Bunche.

Featured in the plan are methods of enforcing the 1964 Civil
Rights Act--especially those provisions regarding equal employment
opportunities and the withholding of Federal funds from schools, ,
hospitals, and all ge facilities that fail to desegregate. Included
also are bold attacks on unequal criminal justice, notably the
discriminatory application of the death penalty to Negroes.

Suits to compel school desegregation on a statewide basis
represent yet another prong, as will actions to insure the
