Re: Chisom V. Edwards

Dear Lora and Mark:

I am enclosing copies of the briefs the defendants
have filed along with their new counsel's cover letter.
As I mentioned, we shall probably move for issuance of
the mandate and an injunction against the September
election.

Incidentally, the Court of Appeals' opinions in
Mallory v. Eyrich and Chisom are now reported. The
full set of opinions in Mallory is 666 F. Supp. 1060
(S.D. Ohio 1987), revld 839 F.2d 275 (6th Cir. 1988);
the full set in Chisom is 659 F. Supp. 183 (E.D. La.
1987), revid, 839 F.2d 1056 (5th Cir. 1988).

I'll keep you posted on what we decide to do.

ely,

Pa at-S. Karlan
