ORDER CONCERNING PICKENS COUNTY ELECTION SCHEDULE
Upon the joint motion of the Pickens County defendants and
Pickens County plaintiffs and argument of counsel, the Court
hereby amends the October 21, 1986, Order and Judgment to direct
that elections for the Pickens County Commission be conducted in
accordance with the following schedule:
1. December 12, 1986, at 5:00 P. M. —- End of qualifying.
2. January 20, 1987 - Party primaries.
3. February 10, 1987 - Runoff elections.
4. March 3, 1987 - General elections.
5. April 1, 1987 =~ Winners take office.
Commissioners so elected in said election shall hold office
for a period of four years; until their successors are elected in
1590 and sworn into office in 1991 in accordance with the
applicable state law. It is further ordered that: the
commissioners elected on November 4 under the present at-large
plan and the other Pickens County commissioners presently in
office shall remain in office until the elections under the
schedule provided for above and the winners take office on April
1; 1987.

ORDER
This matter is before the Court on the motion of the Law-
rence County Defendants for amendment to the elections procedures
approved by the Court on November 7, 1986. Upon consideration of
the motion, the Court concludes that it is due to be granted.
Accordingly, it is ORDERED AND ADJUDGED as follows:
3 The amendment to the election procedures proposed by
the Lawrence County Defendants in their motion of November 1 3,
1986 is hereby approved.
