Re: Major v. Treen
Dear Lani:
I looked through Bruneau's deposition and did not find the quote that Jim
had mentioned. There is same language in his deposition that indicates that
during the reapportionment process, he spent all his time on the state house
reapportiormment and not congressional reapportiorment. If this language will
help you at all, please let me know and I will make copies of those portions
of his deposition.
In reference to the timeliness of his Motion to Intervene, the following
chronology is important. Charles Emile Bruneau, Jr., better known as the
infamous "Peppi" Bruneau submitted to a deposition in the Major case on
Tuesday, December 14, 1982. Additionally, Mr. Bruneau testified at trial in
Major on March 8, 1983 and his testimony can be found in the transcript of
that day's testimony at pages 226 to 278.
I hope this information is helpful to you Lani, and if there is anything
else you need, please let me know.
Very truly yours,
