Re: Major v. Treen, Civil Action No. 32-1192
Dear Lani:
I received the statement of expenses and fees for Julius's
trip to New Orleans. I will keep that in a file until it's time
for a supplemental request to the court. However, please do what
you can to note it on your own records. This does not fit into
my bookkeeping system and I am afraid I could overlook that in
the future. It would have to be presented to the court by way of
affidavit from Julius and/or LDF in any event.
1 got a call from Bill Quigley asking the same question you
did about entry of an order. I called Judge Collins! law clerk
and she said the judge had been very busy and had not been
satisfied with the order that we had sent over. I understood her
to say that the judge expected the bond to be resolved first
whereas we had expected that the judgment would be entered and
conditioned upon the subsequent approval of a bond. I explained
our position to her. She seemed to understand and I believe she
will speak with the judge and Bill Quigley to work out the
mechanics.
Best regards.
Sincerely,
