CONSENT DECREE 

The parties, through counsel, having met and agreed 

to a modification of the school desegregation plan previously 

ordered by this Court on December 10, 1969 and amended on 

 



  

August 6, 1970, and the Court being of the opinion that the 

agreed to modifications satisfy the ends cf justice in this 

case and will not adversely affect public school desegregation, 

it is therefore ordered that the desegregation plan of 

December 10, 1969 and August 6, 1970 shall be modified in 

the following respect: 

1. The Natchez Special Municipal Separate School 

District is 

Carpenter II School as an active facility, with 

grades one and two there transferred to the 

Braden School, and is permitted to lease this 

building to the Board of Trustees of the Copiah- 

Lincoln Junior College for use as the Natchez 

Center for said college, 

All other provisions of the plan ordered on December 10, 1969 

and August 6, 1970 shall remain in full force and effect un- 

less specifically modified herein.
