LDF FUND DRIVE 

BOSTON---Announcement that George Cabot Lodge has been named Chairman 

of the New England Fund Raising Committee of the NAACP Legal Defense 

and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) was made here this week. 

The goal this year is $100,000.00. 

Mr. Lodge, son of outgoing U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, Henry Cabot 

Lodge, replaces the Rev. John Crocker who retired. Rev. Crocker is 

former headmaster of the Groton School. 

Young Lodge is now a lecturer at Harvard Business School and 

Director of the Division of International Affairs. 

He formerly served as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Inter- 

national Affairs. 

Gustav Heningburg, assistant to the president of the LDF, serves 

as coordinator for the New England Committee, part of the LDF's net- 

work of out-of-town fund raising campaigns. 

These drives are currently in progress in Chicago, Boston, 

Washington, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis, Providence, and Detroit.
