Re: Bradley v. Milliken
Dear Louis:

I am in receipt of the District Court’s January 13,
1975 Order in the above mentioned case. In that Order, District
Judge Robert E. DeMascio ordered that a conference of all counsel
take place in the City of Detroit fourteen (14) days following
the day of the Order.

As yet, I have not heard from you as to your pleasure
in convening such a meeting. We telephoned your office on
Tuesday, January 21, 1975 in order to ascertain the time and
place of any proposed meeting or what your plans were. You were
not in and no one was able to give us any answers to these
questions. I am also advised that Mr. Theodore Sachs, representing
the American Federation of Teachers, has also done the same.

As you know, the Detroit Board of Education has
established an Office of Desegregation and is developing proposals
in regard to the question of desegregation. We would like to
confer with you concerning the same in order to be of maximum
assistance to the Court.

I suggest a meeting on Monday afternoon, January 27, 1975.
1 shall be glad to arrange for space either in my office, at the
Detroit Bar 7\ssociation1 s offices, or at some other convenient
location-in Detroit.

Please call my office as soon as possible so that we can
make the appropriate arrangements.

Very truly yours,

GTR:mp
cc: Honorable Robert E. DeMascio
