Enclosed is the new apportlonment plan adopted by the North

Carolina House. As I am sure most of you know, the Senate did

not end up changing its p1an. Note Section 3 of the Bill- which

changes the filing date for the General Assembly and for Congress

to begin February 15 and end March 1-, L982. It looks like we

have been given a littLe extra time.

(b) In aclclition, the State Board of Elections is hereby
