MOTION FOR ADMISSIONS PRO HAC VICE
(LOCAL RULE 2.05)

Ralph Gingles, €t aI., as plaintiffs in Gingles v. Edminsten and

as defendant intervenors in Cavanagh v. Brock, move that Lani Guinier

be admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the

Eastern District of North Carotina for the sole purpose of appearing

in the above-captioned cases.



In support of this motion, plaintiffs show the court that Lanj-

Guinier is a member in good standing of the Bar of the Supreme Court
of Michigan and, in addition, is admitted to practice and is a member

in good standing of the Bars of the United States District Courts
for the Eastern District of Michigan and the District of Columbia, of
the United States Cor:rts of Appeals for the Fifth, Sixth, and Eleventh
Circuits, and of the United States Supreme Court.
