Gilbert Ganucheau Clerk United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit 600 Camp Street New Orleans, LA 70130 Re: No. 87-3463, Chisom v. Edwards Dear Mr. Ganucheau: I am writing with regard to appellees' motion for extension of time within which to file their brief. As I told your office on the telephone today, appellants do not oppose this motion. We note, however, that the motion is open-ended with regard to the amount of time requested. In determining the appropriate extension, we ask that the Court keep in mind the fact that appellees have already received an extension of nearly one month and the nature of this case, which challenges an electoral scheme which is scheduled to be used in 1988. We also ask that the Court make clear that it will not entertain any further requests by appellees for extension of time. cc: Kendall L. Vick, Esq. William P. Quigley, Esq. Ron Wilson, Esq. Roy J.
