There has been no black candidate who
garnered support from a majority of white
voters under any condition no matter
whether he was an incumbent, won the
democratic primary in a highly democratic
cou nty, or ytas runni ng unopposed. f t is
particularly devastating that no black
candidate can ever get votes from a
majority of white voters sincer BS was
discussed above, under the multiseat
election system, depending on the number
of candidates in relation to the number of
seats, it may well take votes from more
than 50t of voters to win.
